Eaton is proud to be recognized as an industry leader in Low-Speed, High-Torque (LSHT) hydraulic motor technology. Our premium line of Char-Lynn® motors and standard line of Xcel motors both feature a design based on the Orbit Principle in which an internal gear rotates inside of an external fixed gear. These gerotor motors are known for their reliable high-power density, modularity and economic design.
Each of three Char-Lynn Geroler product lines include a wide variety of available displacements customizable specifically for application needs.
The Xcel product line is offered in carbon and stainless steel, brass and plastic, with various seal options available. The design life of Xcel motors are tailored for low to medium-duty applications.
High Pressure Char-Lynn Motors
Experience the power of Low-Speed, High-Torque (LSHT) hydraulic technology with heavy-duty, pressure-balanced Valve-in-Star (VIS) motors from Eaton. Primarily intended for closed-loop applications, these compact, powerful VIS motors are the perfect solution for grinders, sprayers, augers and other equipment, providing higher pressure capability and better efficiency than other types of LSHT hydraulic motors.

Low Pressure Char-Lynn Motors
Small but powerful, Eaton low pressure spool valve motors have the perfect combination of features for a variety of demanding applications, from harvesting equipment to food processing plants. With hydrodynamic journal bearings optimized for long life, these spool valve motors distribute pressurized fluid via integrated valve slots into the Gerotor or Geroler® orbit gear set. This results in a low pressure spool valve motor that can be optimized for low-flow and low-speed requirements, keeping equipment performing smoothly.

Medium Pressure Xcel Motors
Ideal for medium-duty applications, Eaton Xcel Series geroler motors feature a 3-zone architecture, unlike the 2 zones found in competitive motors. With 3-zone motors, there's no need for extra horsepower that raises operating temperature and wastes energy. The Xcel motor's design dampens pressure spikes in both directions – even without a case drain hose – helping to extend shaft seal life and enhance overall reliability. Plus, Eaton's Xcel motors use a "same speed" disc valve that rotates with the output shaft, improving mechanical and volumetric efficiency.
Common applications include salt and sand spinners, street cleaner brushes, car washes, combine reel drives, feed-grinding augers, auger swing drives, stake-down motors and post-hole drives.

A powerful high speed, low torque hydraulic motor built to go the distance
Eaton’s Hydre-MAC™ is a low-speed, high torque (LSHT) direct drive, radial piston motor – featuring a cam lobe design – for variable speed applications that use less energy to deliver more power when needed. The Hydre-MAC radial piston motor can deliver 900kW of power and up to 280,000Nm of torque at max pressures of up to 350 bar all while delivering over 94% efficiency. With a symmetrical, 18-piston/roller assembly design that eliminates side loading, and two inlet/outlet ports that reduce pressure drop at high power, the Hydre-MAC radial piston motor generates less heat and experiences less wear and tear.
